Two women were arrested on a charge of battery after allegedly beating a shopper because she walked near their car, police in Florida said.
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said that they have arrested 24-year-old Naysha Barre-Parrilla and 36-year-old Deysha Williams, after being accused of beating the shopper, who was not identified, in the head and throwing away her groceries.
Both women were charged with battery and criminal mischief.
They were booked into the Brevard County Jail Complex, and bail was set at $1,000 each.
According to the police, around 7:00 p.m. on Monday, officers were called to the Publix supermarket located at 3450 Bayside Lakes, on a report of a disturbance.
Police officers who arrived at the scene, learned that Barre-Parrilla was reversing her car in the parking lot of the supermarket while the victim was next to her vehicle.
The victim screamed to alert Barre-Parrilla. In response, Barre-Parrilla and Williams got out of the car and followed the victim.
Barre-Parrilla and Williams then beat the victim in the head before heading over to her shopping cart. The took out fried chicken and a gallon of milk, and threw the items on the floor.
