The Los Angeles Police Department said that they have arrested 46-year-old Hiroshi Motohashi, after being accused of releasing the 13-foot snake at the Iroha Sushi of Tokyo.
Motohashi was charged with one count of making criminal threats. He was booked into jail, and his bail was set at $50,000.
According to the police investigation, Motohashi brought two small snakes to the restaurant, and began showing them off to other customers.
When the customers complained, employees asked him to take the snakes outside. Motohashi left the restaurant and returned with an even bigger snake.
Motohashi dropped the python in the middle of the restaurant floor and left. Employees called the police who removed the snake from the restaurant and arrested the suspect.
The snake was seized by animal control officers.
