The parents of a young girl in the United Kingdom, were devastated to learn that their daughter is dying of cancer.

The girl was diagnosed with a rare, fast growing brain tumor, and was given just weeks to live.

Andy Barnard, 31, of Norfolk, said that he had promised his daughter that he would give her a wedding of her dreams.

Tragically, that day will never come for the 16-month-old Poppy-Mai, after she was given about two weeks to live.

The girl underwent treatment for about six weeks, but when her condition did not improve and doctors gave up hope, her parents decided to take her home so she can live the rest of her short life in peace rather than in a hospital environment.

With just weeks to live, Andy, who is in the The Royal Air Force, decided to give her daughter the wedding he always promised her.

The father acted as the groom. Poppy-Mai was escorted down the aisle by her mother Sammi Barnard, 29, and her brothers Rylee, six, and Jenson-Jay, four.

“From the moment we learned that we were going to have a girl, I said that I’d have the wedding of her dreams one day.

“I never ever thought it would be like this. Our hearts are broken forever, but I wanted to keep my promise to my princess. It wasn’t how I imagined, but she got her wedding day,” Andy said.
