(Scroll down for video) A mother of Indianapolis, Indiana, who was last seen 42 years ago, was found alive.

Lula Ann Gillespie-Miller was 28 years old when she mysteriously disappeared.

She was apparently not interested to be found. However, 42 years after she went missing, Indiana State Police asked for help to locate her.

Detective Sergeant Scott Jarvis looked into the cold case for details of Gillespie-Miller’s disappearance in 1974.

Gillespie-Miller disappeared shortly after giving birth to her third child. She told her family that she was too young to be a mother.

She gave legal custody of the children to her parents, and was never heard of again, other than a letter that she sent in 1975.

With the help of the letter, the officer was eventually able to trace Gillespie-Miller to Texas.

He contacted the Texas Rangers, who went to Gillespie-Miller’s home and confirmed that the 69 year old, who now lives under an alias, is indeed the woman who disappeared decades ago.

Police said that she did not explain why he left her family behind in Indiana, but she agreed to have her contact information passed on to her daughter, Tammy.

“Tammy Miller hopes to make contact with the mother she has never known,” police said in a statement.
