A man was bitten by his own dog after ordering it to kill police officers.

Police in Riviera Beach, Florida, said that 26-year-old Avery Davis, released his pit bull and told the animal to attack the officers.

The pitbull however, had other plans. The dog attacked its owner, biting him on the behind and trying to bite his head before Davis managed to escape.

He then hid under an SUV in a nearby apartment complex, according to the Riviera Beach police arrest report.

The incident began at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, when officers were in the area investigating a reported theft. Officers spotted Davis, who matched the description of the suspect.

He was allegedly carrying products for hair care that were missing from the scene.

Officers ordered Davis to get down on the floor and he complied. He did so while hugging the dog that was on a leash.

Davis then let his dog loose and said: “Kill ’em child, Kill ’em,” while pointing to the officers, according to police.

However, the dog attacked him instead. After Davis managed to escape, he hid from officers.

He was later found under the SUV and arrested on two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and one count of resisting an officer with violence.
