A woman was kicked out of New Zealand, after being caught smuggling lemons in her pants, customs officials said.
The incident unfolded at the Auckland Airport on Monday.
The woman who arrived from Hong Kong, was singled out for a secondary inspection after being sniffed out by specially trained dogs.
Officials asked her if she has anything to declare, but the woman told them that she had nothing. While searching her pants, agents noticed six lemons.
The woman protested, saying that she needed the lemons to treat her illnesses, including liver disease. The woman, who was not identified, was denied entry and ordered to leave as soon as possible.
The woman took the next flight back to Hong Kong.
Officials warned travelers not to bring in any food into the country, saying that food brought in from abroad can contain foreign diseases or pests that are potentially hazardous to the environment.
