Young mother dies after drunk friends fought in car forcing driver off road

(Scroll down for video) A young mother was killed in a tragic accident after fighting with another passenger while they were drunk.

Police in Michigan, were called after a car crashed in Detroit.

Emergency services rushed 21-year-old Samantha Mullins, to a hospital after she was thrown from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police learned that Mullins, who was in the front passenger seat, got into a physical altercation with the back seat passenger after they were out drinking.

The fight caused the driver, Ceara Abbott, 20, to lose control of the vehicle and she crash. Police determined that Abbott was also intoxicated and she was arrested for drunk driving.

The family of Abbott, said that she and Mullins had been best friends since childhood and that Abbott is tormented over the death of her friend.

Mullins left behind a two-year-old daughter.

Abbott was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death. If convicted she could face 15 years in prison.
