Police launched an investigation after two teachers tied up their student and burned her for worshipping the devil, police in Kenya said.
Nairobi police said that the incident unfolded at the Strait Secondary School on Thursday.
According to the police investigation, the teachers dragged the 17-year-old girl, who was not identified, into the principal's office and tied her hands and feet.
They then asked her to reveal the whereabouts of a missing student.
When she said that she does not know, the teachers poured flammable liquids on her and set her on fire as the principal of the school watched.
The teachers then accused the girl of worshipping the devil.
The girl’s parents rushed over to the school, and took their daughter to the hospital, where she is said to be in critical condition.
The parents denied the allegations, and said that their daughter does not worship the devil.
