A boy was arrested on a charge of attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his classmate because his grandmother doesn’t like him, police in Zimbabwe said.
Bulawayo police said that they have arrested the 15-year-old boy, who was not identified, after being accused of stabbing 18-year-old Moses Ncube.
The boy was charged with attempted murder and assault. He was booked into jail, and was denied bail. The boy told investigators that he stabbed Ncube in self defense.
Ncube threatened to come to the boy’s house and harass his grandmother who doesn't like him. In response, the boy told Ncube that he doesn't belong in his neighborhood.
The boy took out a knife, and stabbed Ncube eight times in the chest. Ncube ran away from the scene, and went to a nearby police station, where police called an ambulance.
Ncube was taken to the Mpilo Central Hospital, where he is said to be in critical condition.
