(Scroll down for video) A father was furious after his former wife allowed a sex offender to give their children permanent tattoos.

31-year-old Ashley Weir of Texas, was arrested for allowing the brother of her boyfriend to give her children, all under the age of 13, tattoos on their ankles.

Police said that Weir was drunk at the time of the arrest. The children told their father that their mother told them “not to whine or cry” while getting the tattoos done.

Police were called by the children's father who noticed the tattoos when he came to pick them up from their mother's house after school.

Weir's 13-year-old son received a tattoo of a cross, her 10-year-old daughter had an infinity symbol and her nine-year-old daughter had a tattoo of a heart and arrow.

The brother of the woman’s boyfriend, who made the tattoos, is listed on the Texas Department of Public Safety's sex offender registry.

Weir has been arrested on three counts of tattoos prohibited for certain persons. If found guilty, she faces up to three years in prison. The father is now fighting for custody of the three children.
