(Scroll down for video) An elderly man was arrested on a charge of murder after allegedly shooting his son because he was gay, police in California said.
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office said that 69-year-old Shehada Khalil Issa, has been charged with one count of premeditated murder in connection after the death of 29-year-old Amir Issa.
Shehada Khalil Issa was booked into the Men’s Central Jail, and his bail was set at $2 million.
According to the police investigation, the shooting unfolded in the suspect’s home located in the in the 15000 block of Rayen Street, on Tuesday around 9:00 a.m.
Shehada Khalil Issa shot his son in the face and abdomen because he didn't like the fact that he was gay and doing drugs.
When police entered the home, they also found the dead body of 68-year-old Rabihah Issa. Investigators believe that she was dead for some time.
This wasn't the first time that police have been called to the home as Shehada Khalil Issa has been trying to evict his son from the property.
