A mother was arrested after forcing her children to walk to school on a busy highway while she was driving her gold Cadillac.

The mother of Tennessee, faces child endangerment charges after deputies found her daughters walking to school on foot.

Police were called after people spotted two girls walking with a dog on the side of the busy highway.

Lisa Marie Palmer, 32, was arrested after officers found her driving ahead of her daughters as they were walking to school.

Marion County Deputy Sheriff Chris Ladd, who saw the two girls, said that Palmer was driving on the shoulder in front of her children and allowed them to catch up with her car until they reached the school.

Palmer told officers that her daughters were being punished for missing the school bus, deputies said. She was charged with neglect of children.

Police learned that Palmer did not have a valid driver’s license so they did not allow her to drive the children to school.

When Palmer’s husband, Brandon, and his father, Douglas, arrived, the officers asked to see a license before handing the children over to them.
