A woman of the United Kingdom, was jailed for stealing marshmallows from a university student.
The thief of Bethesda, Wales, held a knife to the terrified college student and demanded cash, but made off with a bag of marshmallows.
Prosecutors Richard Edwards said that 39-year-old Sian Budski, robbed the female student who is from China, when she finished shopping.
The victim bought two bags of marshmallows and was in the street when Budski grabbed her wrist. Budski brandished a knife and demanded to hand over all of her money, Edwards said.
When the frightened victim said she had only the marshmallows, the defendant took them and ran away.
Police located Budski, and had to use a Taser to stop her as she was “extremely aggressive,” police said.
The prosecutor said that the robbery caused the victim to be afraid to go out in the dark.
Defense attorney Anna Pope said that Budski had no recollection of the events, and was “shocked and appalled” when she saw the surveillance footage of her actions.
Budski, who is reportedly a drug addict and an alcoholic, apologized to her victim when she appeared at the Caernarfon Crown Court to plead guilty to armed robbery.
Judge Gaynor Lloyd described Budski as a persistent offender when she was sentenced to 3 years in prison.
