Four people were killed and many more were injured after a police officer accidentally detonated a grenade during a security presentation in a college, police in Indonesia said.
Kendari police said that the incident unfolded on Tuesday around 3:30 p.m. at the Haluoleo University.
According to the police investigation, Adj. First Insp. Syafrudin along with a team of security experts were discussing bomb-making materials as part of a 2-week workshop.
During the demonstration, Brig. Haidir pulled out the pin of the grenade to show the participants how it works, but it exploded in his face.
The explosion killed Haidir and three members of the university security team identified as Jufri, Aswan and Kamarudin.
Syafrudin and seven other security personnel were injured in the blast.
