Two thieves were arrested on a charge of theft after breaking open slot machines and stealing the cash, police in the United Kingdom said.
Now, 24-year-old Daniel Mervin William Hutchinson of Skegness, and 29-year-old Benjamin James Robinson, have been sentenced after being found guilty of theft.
Hutchinson has been sentenced to serve nearly three years in prison while Robinson was given a six month prison sentence, which was suspended for two years.
According to the police investigation, the pair covered their faces and broke slot machines to steal the cash. They then decided to photograph themselves, posing and smiling with the large pile of cash.
The men were detained while traveling on the A65 for speeding.
Police searched their vehicle and found more than a thousand 1 pound coins, 2,000 pounds in banknotes, scarves and a screwdriver.
Police said that these criminals carried out a series of crimes without thinking about the companies they were targeting.
He said investigations showed they were targeting slot machines across the country.
