Members of a drug cartel dumped several human heads outside an elementary school to serve as a warning for rivals to stay away from their territory, police in Mexico said.

Ciudad Victoria police said that members of Los Zetas, beheaded at least five people in the past week.

The Grupo Bravo faction of Los Zetas, dumped the three heads, two belonging to women and one to a man, outside the elementary school along with a poster.

The poster warns the Cartel Del Noreste to stop killing innocent people.

The day before the three heads were left outside the school, two heads were dumped on the Ciudad Victoria-Matamoros highway.

A threatening poster was also left on the highway, warning rivals to stay away of their territory. Police have launched an investigation, but so far, no arrests have been made.
