Philadelphia police said that the incident unfolded in the Staples located in the 7700 block of Germantown Avenue on Friday night.

A store clerk told investigators that he observed the woman enter the bathroom around 9:30 p.m.

When she failed to come out of the bathroom for three house, managers forced open the door and found her lying on the floor unconscious.

They immediately called the police, who arrived at the scene and observed 10 empty cans of aerosol spray on the floor of the bathroom.

The 36-year-old woman, who was not identified, had two full cans of aerosol spray in her purse. All cans were stolen from the store.

The woman inhaled the cans of spray despite a warning on the label that doing so can be fatal.
