A photographer was shot and killed while he was busy taking photos and videos of people shooting their weapons, police in Alaska said.
Anchorage police said that the victim, 30-year-old Adam C. Malaby, was shot around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Police officers who arrived at the scene of the shooting found people performing CPR on the victim. According to the police investigation, Malaby stepped into the line of fire while trying to record people shooting in the area.
Malaby was shot by a person using a .40-caliber pistol. Police said that it was an accident, and even though the area was not designated for shooting, people gathered there for target practice all the time.
Malaby was taken to the Providence Alaska Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. So far, no charges have been filed.
