School bus driver sells heroin all across the city

(Scroll down for video) A school bus driver was arrested on a charge of criminal sale of controlled substance after allegedly selling heroin across the city, police in New York said.


Nassau police have arrested 26-year-old Maldane Cockett, after being accused of selling heroin on the street in full view of the public.

Cockett was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was booked into jail, and his bail was set at $12,500.

According to the police investigation, Cockett was a school bus driver for the Educational Bus Transportation company.

Around 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Cockett was seen selling heroin to another person at the corner of N. Beech Street and N. Broadway.

He was arrested at the scene. The Educational Bus Transportation company said that they have suspended the driver pending the outcome of the case.
