16-year-old girl dies after classmate slammed her head into school toilet sink while fighting over boy

(Scroll down for video) A teenage girl has died at school after fighting with a classmate over a boy, according to police in Delaware.

Wilmington police said that the incident unfolded at the Howard High School of Technology on Thursday around 8:00 a.m.

The victim, 16-year-old Amy Inita Joyner-Francis, and another girl were fighting over a boy in the school bathroom when the victim’s head was slammed into a sink.

She immediately lost consciousness. Classes have been canceled for the rest of the day. The victim was taken to A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children and was pronounced dead.

Police said that other students were present in the bathroom at the time of the assault and some of them may have recorded to incident on their cellphones.
