(Scroll down for video) Two police officers have resigned after being accused of trying to rape a victim of domestic violence, police in Ohio said.
Chillicothe police have confirmed that Brandon Mather and Tad Franklin have resigned as officers after attacking the woman who complained that she was beat up by her boyfriend.
The two police officers resigned as a disciplinary hearing was about to begin.
According to the police investigation, Mather was drinking near closing time at the Chillicothe Quality Inn, when he called Franklin to give him a ride home.
As the two were at the inn, the 36-year-old woman approached them and complained that she was a victim of domestic violence. Franklin took photographs of the victim, but did not investigated the assault.
Mather went with the woman to her hotel room, and then took her to a friend’s house, where she called the police and said that the two police officers tried to rape her.
Another police officer, Jeff Demint, who was at the hotel at the time, was suspended for three days.
