(Scroll down for video) Police launched an investigation after employees of a butcher shop found human remains outside their store, police in Canada said.
The Toronto Police Department confirmed that the remains that were found outside the butcher store on Broadview Avenue, were human flesh.
Employees of the Charlie's Meat and Seafood butcher shop found the remains around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Investigators believe that the body parts were there for a very short period of time.
The human flesh was not in an advanced state of decomposition. Police have identified the remains as a partial torso of a white woman, and it was without clothing.
A man told police that he saw a van pulling up to the butcher shop before the human remains were dumped. He identified the driver as a man.
Members of the public were urged to contact police if they find anything suspicious in the vicinity of the butcher store as police believe that the woman’s other body parts may have been dumped in the area.
