A man was arrested after police found endangered monkeys rather than his mistress.
Police in China, said that the angry woman called at 3:00 a.m.
She said that her husband brought another woman to their home and that he was high on drugs.
When officers arrived to the home in Guangxi, the husband threatened them with a knife.
After calling for backup, officers were able to get the man in handcuffs. The man was clearly under the influence and officers found him to be in possession of methamphetamine, police said.
Officers searched the man’s house, but they did not find the mistress. Instead, they found a room filled with cages that held 37 small monkeys.
They also found one dead monkey in a garbage can.
Police found several notebooks with details of the couple’s smuggling activities. All of the monkeys were arranged to be sold for several thousand yuan.
Police confiscated the endangered monkeys while the husband claimed that he has no idea how the 20 red slender loris and 17 macaques got into the spare bedroom of his home.
