A homeless man was arrested on a charge of domestic violence after allegedly biting his girlfriend's nose while they were showering together in their friend’s apartment, police in Florida said.

Myrtle Beach police arrested 31-year-old Douglas Allen Brown, after being accused of beating the 31-year-old woman and punching a hole in the wall next to the shower.

Brown was charged with domestic violence and malicious injury. He was booked into the Myrtle Beach Jail, and his bail was set at $781.

According to the police, officers were called around 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, to an apartment located in the 300 block of First Avenue North, on a report of a domestic dispute.

The victim told police that while she was taking a shower with Brown, they began to argue. Brown put his hands around her neck, making it hard for her to breathe.

Brown then bit her nose. While in the shower, Brown struck the wall beside her head, causing damage. Brown then continued to assault the woman in the living room.

The couple lives on the street behind bushes.
