A man was arrested on a charge of murder after stabbing a boy for refusing to hand him a bag of chocolates, police in the United Kingdom said.
Now, 20-year-old Jemal Williams of London, has been sentenced to serve up to life in prison after being convicted of murder in connection with the stabbing of 17-year-old Shaquan Sammy-Plummer.
According to the police investigation, Sammy-Plummer had spent an evening having fun with two of his friends, and was planning to go to a small house party with them.
They laughed and joked as they made their way to the party, but they had no idea that by the end of the night, Sammy-Plummer would lose his life.
The victim had been invited to the party, but when he arrived with his friends, Williams told him he could not come in, and then demanded that he handover his bag, which contained drinks and sweets.
Sammy-Plummer refused, and walked away, but Williams ran after him and stabbed him without warning or provocation.
