People in Norway, were horrified to watch zoo workers feeding a beheaded zebra to a group of tigers.
Zoo officials at the Kristiansand Dyrepark zoo admitted to beheading the healthy animal because it just had too many zebras and they needed to get rid of some.
The incident came to light after a zoo visitor took a picture of the beheaded zebra in the tiger enclosure and uploaded it on Facebook.
The bloodstained carcass remained in the enclosure for some time, allowing children to see the horrific scene. Zoo officials defended their actions, saying that they were simply trying to give the tigers a more natural diet.
Vet Rolf-Arne Olberg, who is a spokesperson for the zoo, said that most people realize that a tiger eats meat and there is nothing wrong to see nature unfold.
