(Scroll down for video) A lawyer was arrested on a charge of destroying evidence after allegedly raiding the judge’s chambers and swallowing a document that showed his client driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Kyzyl police arrested the lawyer, who was not identified, after a video emerged, showing him getting a hold of the document that had his client’s blood alcohol content report and stuffing it into his mouth.
The lawyer was charged with one count of destroying evidence.
If convicted, he faces up to two years in prison and a fine of up to $3,000. According to the video released by the court, the lawyer is seen alone in the judge’s chambers reviewing legal documents.
The lawyer located the document, which contained blood test results and a breathalyzer report of his client who was caught driving under the influence of alcohol.
The lawyer put the document in his bag, but then decided to swallow it.
When the judge’s secretary returned to the chambers, the lawyer told her that the blood test results was missing and without it, there was no evidence against his client.
The secretary began looking for the report, and when she couldn’t find it, she called a security guard to search the lawyer.
The secretary then reviewed the security camera footage, which showed the lawyer eating the evidence.
