(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested on a charge of theft after allegedly stealing a snake from a pet store and hiding it in his pants before trying to walk out the door without paying, police in Florida said.

Pinellas County police arrested Travis Treder, after being caught by employees of the Animal House Pet Center, stealing the snake from its enclosure.

Treder was charged with one count of theft. According to the police investigation, this was not the first time that Treder stole a pet from a store.

Investigators believe that he sold the stolen pets on Craigslist.

On Monday, Treder entered the pet store located at 950 34th Street N, and put the baby python in his pants pocket. Chaos erupted in the pet store as employees tried to stop him.

Surveillance video shows the suspect grabbing the snake from its enclosure and putting it in his pants. Treder has stolen snakes and lizards twice from the store in the past few months.

The suspect was restrained in the store until police arrived.
