A teen was rushed to a hospital in serious condition after shooting himself in the private parts and backside while trying to steal marijuana from a drug dealer, police in Washington said.
Tacoma police were called to the scene of a shooting after the masked 16-year-old boy grabbed a bag of marijuana from the drug dealer and shot himself with a gun.
The teen, who was not identified, was charged with first-degree felony with a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm.
He remains at the Madigan Army Medical Center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, where he underwent a seven-hour operation to repair a fractured pelvis, a fractured femur and a severely damaged femoral artery after shooting himself in the private parts and backside.
According to the police investigation, the incident unfolded on Friday around 7:00 p.m. The teenager set up a drug deal with a dealer who showed him the marijuana he wanted.
The boy took the bag and ran. The dealer chased the boy before the thief pulled out a weapon. The dealer went back into his car and fled from the scene.
When the teenager put the gun in his pants, it fired a shot. The bullet went through his private parts and came out of his backside.
