(Scroll down for video) A baseball game in Japan, was delayed until officials figured out how a half of a dead fish ended up on the field.
The incident unfolded at the Koshien Stadium in Hyogo on Sunday, as the Hanshin Tigers was playing against the Swallows.
The stinking half eaten dead fish was dropped by a bird near the position of the Swallows left-fielder, Wladimir Balentien.
Balentien described the smell of the fish as unbearable.
Officials who reviewed security camera footage, determined that the fish was dropped by a bird that was flying across the stadium and was not thrown into the field by an angry fan.
Balentien call a timeout after which an employee of the stadium cleaned the mess with a broom and dustpan. After the game resumed, the Swallows won the game by a score of 5 to 1.
