(Scroll down for video) A manager of a law firm was arrested on a charge of rape after allegedly raping a colleague in her bed late at night, according to the police in Australia.
Melbourne police said that they have arrested 47-year-old Dale Cooney, a manager at the Arnold Bloch Leibler law firm, after being accused of raping her colleague and ripping out her hair while she was lying in bed at her home.
Cooney was charged with two counts of rape. Cooney denied the allegations, saying that the woman consented. According to the police investigation, Cooney called the woman three times on the night of the rape, asking her to meet him.
She refused and turned off her phone. Around 1:30 a.m., the woman heard pounding on her front door. She looked outside and saw Cooney.
When she opened the door, he grabbed her by the arm and pulled her out. He then entered and closed the door, but moments later opened, smiled and told her to go back to bed.
He then raped the woman in her bed. Cooney also bit the woman in the neck during the attack, and pulled out strands of hair.
The following Monday, Cooney called the woman and told her that he hopes she was taking birth control. At work, the woman reported being raped to Arnold Bloch Leibler, and the law firm investigated the incident.
One day, Cooney showed the woman the front page of a newspaper, which read: “I am sorry.”
