(Scroll down for video) A judge in Arkansas, was forced to resign after investigators found thousands of nude photos on his computer, depicting criminals who agreed to pose in exchange for reduced sentences.
Cross County District Judge Joseph Boeckmann, 69, was accused of exchanging lenient sentences for sex.
Several criminal defendants filed complaints with the police, saying that they were forced to have sexual relationships with the judge.
In a letter to the Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission, Boeckmann said his resignation was effective immediately, and he would never seek to hold office in the county or state.
Boeckmann’s resignation came as investigators were in the process of recovering up to 4,500 photos of nude men. The photos show young men in various poses within the judge’s house and outside in his yard.
Many men had appeared as defendants in the judge’s court.
Several men, including one under 18 years old, told investigators that after appearing in court, the judge gave them his phone number written by hand on a piece of paper.
In one case, a man described having a sexual relationship with the judge while he paid fines for which Boeckmann granted him extensions.
The judge denied the allegations.
