(Scroll down for video) Police launched an investigation after a jail guard shot himself in the leg while waiting to be interviewed for a job at an elementary school, according to the police in Florida.
The Panama City Police Department said that 28-year-old Travis Anthony Holland, who is a jail guard at the Bay County Sheriff's Office, shot himself in the leg on Friday.
Holland is not facing any charges as law enforcement officers are allowed to carry guns on school property.
According to the police investigation, Holland shot himself in the leg while waiting to be interviewed for a cleaning job at an elementary school.
Holland told investigators that while waiting in his truck , he decided to replace a spent round in his revolver before storing it in a safe compartment in the truck.
While doing so, he accidentally discharged the weapon, shooting himself in the leg. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and released.
