(Scroll down for video) A woman of Florida, warned women to be aware that CoverGirl lipstick is not for everyone as it can cause severe allergic reactions.

Lily Cleopatra Maurice drove herself to the emergency room after getting up in the morning with a swollen lip.

She also had difficulty breathing, and said that she was lucky she didn’t choke to death in middle of her sleep during the night.

“Please be aware of the Queen collection CoverGirl lipstick. I purchased lipstick this week and woke up choking with huge swollen lips. I had to be rushed to the ER! I could've died in my sleep. Please be careful with the harmful products in lipsticks,” Maurice of Orlando wrote on Facebook.

The incident unfolded after Maurice decided to test the Queen CoverGirl lipstick to get a fresh look for her husband's birthday.

She wanted to look cute for her husband, Maurice said.

Instead of celebrating with her husband, the woman landed in the emergency room with the lower lip swollen to an astonishing degree.

Although doctors took some time to figure out what went wrong, they finally were able to diagnose and treat it.

Later, Maurice shared her story on Facebook as a warning to all women who use lipstick without knowing what side effects some ingredients in cosmetic products could have on their lips.
