19-year-old rape victim live streams her suicide by recording herself jumping in front of speeding train
(Scroll down for video) Police launched an investigation after a teenager live streamed her suicide on the Internet, following a rape, according to police in France.
The 19-year-old woman, who was not identified, live streamed her suicide on the Internet, showing the world how she jumped in front of an oncoming train.
Essonne police said that the incident unfolded on Tuesday around 3:30 p.m. The suicide was live streamed on Periscope, an app owned by Twitter.
About 1,000 people watched the teen kill herself. The clip has since been removed from the app.
A few days before her death, the woman recorded herself in her apartment, discussing how she intended to make a suicide video in order to send a message.
She warned younger viewers that the act she was about to show would be shocking. During the recording, she claimed to have been raped and named the suspect as her former boyfriend.
The death is currently being investigated, and the data on the phone is being looked at. So far, no arrests have been made.
