(Scroll down for video) A woman suffered damage to her eyes after a toilet paper dispenser fell off the wall and hit her face while using a bathroom at McDonald’s, according to court documents in New Mexico.

Veronica Espinoza, who is a police officer, used the women's bathroom at the McDonald’s in Santa Fe, when the incident occurred.

Espinoza told the court that as she tried to take toilet paper in the usual way, the dispenser, which was not properly mounted on the bathroom wall, fell off.

The dispenser slammed into her eyes and separated her retina.

Since then, Espinoza is suffering from floaters in her vision.

The lawsuit accuses McDonald's of negligence as employees should have known that the toilet paper dispenser was not properly secured to the wall.

Espinoza wants at least $10,000 in damages to cover lost wages, medical expenses, pain and suffering.
