Police are looking to arrest a thief on a charge of armed robbery after allegedly ordering a cashier at a car wash to fill up his empty potato chip bag with cash, according to police in California.

Rohnert Park police said that the incident unfolded around 8:00 p.m. on Friday, at the KaCees World of Water located on the Rohnert Park Expressway.

According to the police investigation, the suspect approached the cashier with the potato chip bag, and put it down on the counter.

The suspect then said he had a gun in the bag, but the cashier realized that there was only a piece of cardboard inside and called another employee for help.

The suspect was described as a black man about 30 years old and around 5 feet 8 inches tall. He fled after the second employee came to help the cashier.

Rohnert Park Police said that the suspect was last seen south on Redwood Drive, wearing a black baseball cap, dark pants and a black sweatshirt over a white shirt.
