A couple's honeymoon turned sour after the bride was busy texting instead of consummating their marriage.

The groom of Saudi Arabia, took his newlywed wife to a hotel room after the ceremony in Jeddah.

However, when he tried to get intimate with his bride, she turned him away because she was trying to respond to well wishes from friends on her cellphone.

A relative said that the groom tried to get closer and more intimate with his new wife, but was surprised when she ignored him and she did not respond to his pleas for her to stop texting her friends.

When he asked if her friends were more important than he was, the bride said “yes,” the groom's relative said.

The couple got into an argument that soon became heated, and the groom left the hotel. As he walked out of the room, he told his new wife that he wanted a divorce.

The couple went to court, where a judge advised them to see a reconciliation committee, but the husband refused to withdraw the case and insisted on a divorce.
