A family freaked out after their nanny and their baby went missing.

The boy’s father, Ekpedeme Robinson, called police in Calabar, Nigeria, to report that 17-month-old David Robinson was missing along with his nanny.

The boy was in the care of 18-year-old Covenant Bassey. Police said that the teenager kidnapped her boss’ son after working for the family for less than six months.

The boy’s father said she had left his son in the care of Bassey while he went to get his other children, a pair of twins, from school.

When he returned at 2:00 p.m., he could not find his third child or the nanny.

Police arrested Bassey's mother and others who were closely connected with the nanny, but all have claimed that they do not know her whereabouts.

Police eventually received a tip about the nanny trying to sell her boss’ baby.

David’s mother, Uche Robinson, confirmed the rescue of her son and the arrest of Bassey in a Facebook post.

“David has been found. I want to thank all who showed concern during this hard time. David and the nanny were found today at the trailer park in Onne, where she was trying to sell the baby,” Robinson wrote.
