(Scroll down for video) A boy who wanted to scare drivers by playing dead on the side of a road, was killed after a car ran him over and dragged him along for several hundred feet, according to police in Massachusetts.
Springfield police said that 16-year-old Zamir Sanders, pranked drivers along with his friends on Saturday morning.
According to the police investigation, around 2:30 a.m., Sanders played a game called "dead" along with three other teens. The game involved someone lying down on the road and playing dead in order to scare passing drivers.
The teens were having fun until a 41-year-old woman who was not familiar with the area, tried to drive around a stopped car in front of her.
The woman hit the teenager and dragged him about 300 feet.
The woman has been cooperating with the police. She is emotionally and physically upset, police said. Police are calling this a tragic accident that unfortunately claimed the life of a young teenager.
The driver of the car has not been charged.
