(Scroll down for video) A boy of the United Kingdom, is being hailed as a hero for saving a dog from accidentally hanging itself.

13-year-old Bradley North of Manchester, was walking home from nearby Parrenthorn High School with his friends around 4:00 p.m. on Monday, when he realized there was a dog in distress.

North saw the French Mastiff sticking its paw out of a hot white van. The dog attempted to jump out of the window, but its leash got caught, and it was left hanging and unable to move.

Bradley ran to the aid of the affected dog after it lost consciousness. He managed to release the dog's collar from its neck, saving the dog’s life.

“I lifted it up slightly so it would stop hanging itself. I then managed to unpick the buckle on the leash and managed to save it,” Bradley said.

Bradley said that at first, he thought the window of the van was open, but he soon realized that there was shattered glass on the floor.

He thinks that the dog broke the glass window in order to escape the heat before he came to its rescue.

The boy and his friends then waited with the animal for 15 minutes before its owner returned the vehicle.
