Elderly man uses walking cane to beat credit card machine after being told to leave store

An elderly man was arrested on a charge of assault after allegedly beating a credit card machine with his walking cane after being told to leave a store, according to police in Florida.

Orlando police said that they have arrested 67-year-old Benjamin Nateghi, after being accused of using his walking cane to threaten an employee of a convenience store.

Nateghi has been charged with one count of aggravated assault with a weapon and one count of criminal mischief.

According to the police investigation, on Sunday, Nateghi entered the convenience store before politely being told to leave as he caused trouble in the past.

Nateghi got angry and picked up his cane. He swung the cane in the employee’s face, but the victim managed to get out of harm’s way.

Nateghi then took out his anger on credit card machine next to the cash register. The credit card machine was broken to the point that it was no longer usable.

The machine was worth about $900. Nateghi then left the store on foot. After being arrested, Nateghi told police that he felt disrespected.
