Mother killed by truck while pushing her 5-year-old daughter out of harm's way

A mother of the United Kingdom, gave her life for her 5-year-old daughter after pushing her out of harm’s way.

29-year-old Rachael Martin of Stratford-upon-Avon, was walking with her two daughters to school at 8:45 a.m. on Friday.

Her 5-year-old daughter was riding her scooter when she suddenly drove off the sidewalk and into oncoming traffic.

The mother ran into the road and pushed her five-year-old daughter out of the way. However, the brave mother died when she was dragged under the wheels of the 7.5 ton truck.

A helicopter transported the 5-year-old girl to the Birmingham Children's Hospital, where she is being treated for injuries to her pelvis.

The 7-year-old girl was not injured.
