Daytona Beach police said that the car fitting the description of the one involved in the hit and run incident on Saturday night, was found on Sunday morning.

Police Chief Mike Chitwood said that there was a hit and run incident around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, on Beville Road near Woodcrest Drive.

Bystanders described the driver as a white man. No one was injured in the incident, but the car suffered considerable damage.

Around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, a customer at Toys “R” Us located about 3 miles away from the site of the hit and run, saw the badly damaged car and the body of the suspect underneath it.

Investigators believe that the man was trying to fix his vehicle when it drove over him. Investigators do not believe that foul play was involved.
