(Scroll down for video) A young boy was arrested on a charge of larceny after allegedly stealing a carton of milk at school, according to police in Virginia.

Ryan Turk, who attends the Graham Park Middle School, was suspended after being accused of taking the carton of milk a few minutes too early.

Turk was charged with one count of larceny despite the fact that he would have received the carton of milk as part of his lunch.

According to the police investigation, Turk grabbed a carton of milk while he was waiting for his turn to get lunch. A police officer at the scene accused him of stealing.

As the police officer tried to handcuff him, he pushed him away. Eventually, Turk was handcuffed and charged with larceny.

He was taken to the principal's office, and was suspended for theft, disrespect and using a cellphone.

The mother of the boy identified as Shamise, slammed the decision to charge her son with larceny, saying that Turk was eligible to receive a free bottle of milk.

The bottle of milk sells for 65 cents.
