(Scroll down for video) A beauty queen was arrested on a charge of forgery after allegedly writing fake doctor notes in order to be able to skip school, according to police in South Carolina.
17-year-old Madison Cox, who won the Miss South Carolina Teen International 2015, was arrested on Monday, after investigators checked the dates of the doctor notes and realized that the medical office was closed.
Cox was charged with one count of forgery. According to the police investigation, Cox is a student at the Byrnes High School.
After being asked why she skipped school, Cox used a notebook from Parris Family Chiropractic, to prove that she had doctor appointments.
However, the doctor’s office was closed or they did not see her on the days of her absences from school. Cox was previously the Miss Teen International 2015 Spartanburg.
In addition to winning the Miss South Carolina Teen International 2015, Cox also won the Miss Spartanburg Teen International 2015.
