(Scroll down for video) An attorney was left humiliated after a judge ordered police to handcuff her.

Legal experts, including a legal defenders' union, expressed their shock after the judge from Nevada, punished the attorney for speaking out while defending her client.

Judge Conrad Hafen of Las Vegas, claimed that the public defender Zohra Bakhtary, interrupted him.

He ordered a court officer to sit her next to the inmates “to teach her a lesson about court etiquette.” The judge then sentenced her client to six months in prison on charges that he violated his probation.

Bakhtary claimed that she had been defending her client when the judge cut her off and he began talking. She was not done defending her client so she continued.

Although the judge has the legal power to restrain a person who is acting out of order in the courtroom, it was never used against an attorney who is doing the job of advocating on behalf of a client.
