Man steals ATM and loads it onto stolen school bus before driving to another city

(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested on a charge of theft after allegedly stealing an ATM before driving away with it in a stolen school bus, according to police in New York.

The New York Police Department said that they have arrested 61-year-old David Hughes of Westbury, after being accused of smashing the window of a supermarket and stealing the ATM.

Hughes has been charged with burglary and grand larceny.

According to the police investigation, Hughes broke the window of the Bravo Supermarket located at 306 Post Avenue.

He then dragged the ATM outside the store before putting the machine in a yellow school bus that was parked in front of the building.

Hughes then got on the stolen bus and left. The surveillance cameras of the supermarket recorded the entire incident, police said.

The ATM weighed about 500 pounds and had as much as $3,000 in it. The police managed to locate the bus and the ATM.
