(Scroll down for video) A young woman in China, who failed to raise money for her sister’s cancer treatment, offered herself as a human target to strangers in exchange for $1.50 per arrow.

However, before anyone had a chance to shoot 21-year-old Ji Jianli, police took her off the street.

People walking past the Wulian Square in Hangzhou on Monday afternoon, called the police when they saw Jianli standing next to a sign that read: “Human Target for 10 yuan each arrow.”

On the sign, she also wrote her bank account and electronic money account information. Police removed the woman because they were concerned for her safety.

Jianli revealed that her stunt was a desperate attempt to raise funds for her 22-year-old sister who was suffering from leukemia.

Jianliā€™s family has racked up huge debt since her sister was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. The cost for the treatment is about 500,000 yuan ($76,000).

Jianli and her 42-year-old mother are the only adults working in the family as her father died last year.
