(Scroll down for video) Two close friends of Australia, went out to celebrate the fact that one of them has received a clean bill of health after undergoing chemotherapy.

Leeann Mitchell, 47, was glad to be cancer free.

She and her childhood friend, Cindy Waldron, 46, decided to celebrate by going on a vacation together.

During a late-night swim, Waldron was pulled underwater by a crocodile. The friends were at a beach in Queensland, where they went swimming after 10:30 p.m.

Mitchell said that she was swimming with her friend when she felt something brushing past her leg. Then she heard Waldron yelling “a croc got me, a croc got me.”

Mitchell tried to save her friend, who was being pulled underwater by the crocodile, but she was unable to save her. Waldron went missing. Rescue workers came to the scene and are looking for the missing woman.

Meanwhile, the cancer survivor was taken to the hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries that she sustained while trying to help her best friend.
